Spending time with Steve and Andrea can really give your program a boost, and what they have to say and teach about jazz is so enlightening and down to earth, you will wonder why it took you so long to invite them out.

"Your performance was a little wedge of pure perfection. What splendid music from beginning to end. Andrea, your exquisitely lovely voice and Steve, your incredible music made for a truly memorable evening. I can't remember when we have had the guests sit so still in their seats and so enjoying themselves. Please extend my thanks to Jeff and Barry too. The entire ensemble was so gracious - terrific musicians each and every one of you. I do hope we will have a return engagement." Linda Kahn, Director of Education, Bowers Museum, Jazz at Bowers Series
"Steve, in the past 15 years we have had you and Andrea come out for the Arizona Western College annual JazzFest FIVE times. There must be some reason for this! Oh yes, you guys are the absolute best! The clinics, workshops and performances simply get better each time you are here. I can't tell you how much the guys and gals in the band, all of the students from AWC and the area schools, as well as our concert audiences, enjoy the way you share your talents in ALL respects, not just performance. Your caring and sharing is so much appreciated by all - and well, the performances are always out of this world. I wish we could have you out every year, but I guarantee it won't be long before we share in this experience again. Thank you both for all you do for jazz and music in general." Carl A. Posch, Professor of Instrumental Music, Arizona Western College, Yuma, AZ
Steve, "I remember reading "Bird Lives" sometime in the late ' 70s or so. I remember a picture of Bird playing out of the left side of his mouth. I thought, what a lazy sonofabitch, look at the way he plays! O.k. so I'm an idiot. I tried your advice regarding turning my head to the right and letting only the left tooth contact the mouthpiece. Well, well, well, it worked. After all these years of struggling and in two seconds the problem is solved. Which just goes to show how little technical information about playing the saxophone exists out there. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your advice. Thank you so very very much." Chuck Walker, San Diego
To: Steve Wilkerson I would like to thank you for being the Clinician for the 2007 IAJE All Star Jazz Bands. The small and large school bands rehearsed and performed at the Oklahoma Band Master's Association Convention held July 19 through 21. Rehearsals and the concert proved to be fun and educational to students and directors alike. The concert was OUTSTANDING; I was left with the feeling that Jazz Education is strong in Oklahoma. Mr. Wilkerson topped off the program by performing with the 4A and 5A band to "Europa" by Santana, arranged by Gabe Baltazar. JUST AWESOME! Again thank you for your support of Jazz Education.   Hi Andrea! The DVD arrived, yesterday. I played it and enjoyed it, very much. I particularly enjoyed his (Steve's)rendition of Stardust (One of my favorites) on Baritone Sax. And your delivery of "Lazy Afternoon" and "Green Dolphin Street" is, quite simply, outstanding!! All the best, to both of you! Joe Searight Des Moines, Iowa
